This handmade small wooden statue was inspired by the plaster model of the bust of Apollo Giustiniani in the British Museum in London, based on the original Greek bronze lost in the 5th century BC.
Apollo, the God of archery, music and dance, truth and prophecy, healing and disease, sun and light, poetry, etc. His name is often mentioned throughout Greek mythology because he played a role in the following events: the Trojan War (and other wars), the son of Niobe/Niobids, and the Slaying Giants, etc.
In addition to the British Museum and SMK, this sculpture can also be found at the Royal College of Art in London.
